Anonaceae botanical family
Botanical name: Cananga odorata
Essential oil obtained by distillation of flowers
From controlled organic farming: Certisys-BE1 control

Capacity: 10ml

Presentation

This tree with large yellow flowers is characteristic of the islands of the Indian Ocean: Madagascar, Comoros archipelago, Reunion. Aromatherapy, which relies on all the molecules of the essential oil, uses the “complete”, the product of distillation carried out from start to finish, extending over around ten hours. The scent of this complete EO remains pleasant although heavier. Ylang-ylang essential oil is composed of esters, monoterpenols, sesquiterpenes, a little phenols…

Properties

Due to its richness in esters, this essential oil is a great regulator of the autonomic nervous system. In this context, it is mainly used to calm the racing heart caused by stress. In the same context of neurovegetative dystonia, it is hypotensive. It is essential to dilute it in vegetable oil (maximum 20% essential oil) because it is dermocaustic. Helped by its remarkable smell, ylang-ylang essential oil is a skin and hair tonic.

Psycho-emotional plan

The aroma of ylang-ylang carries an unambiguous message: floral, heady, evocative of the orient and the tropics. We would very logically recommend this essential oil to counteract psychological and emotional difficulties when these originate from a lack of confidence in oneself... and in others.

Precautions for use

  • Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or in young children.
  • Risk of allergy (benzyl benzoate, linalool, benzyl salicylate, geraniol, farnesols, eugenol, citral): be careful not to overdose in mixtures; the crook of the elbow test will be recommended prior to any skin application (min. 48 hours before use).
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Avoid all contact with eyes

LEATHER GOODS PRODUCTS

Majority of the products are treated against moisture and dirt, but it's still necessary to keep your handbag clean to make them last longer.

  • Brush off visible dirt with a soft and clean brush. For your lacquered bag you can use a dry cloth.
  • Clean with a damp (not moist!) cloth to remove invisible dust, dirt, pollution, etc. If there are no visible spots left, this should suffice. For your lacquered bag you can use a dry cloth.
  • If there are still spots, try using a leather cleaner, but the type of products depends on the kind of leather of your bag. Always try your product of choice on a piece of leather on the inside of the bag first!
  • If you have suede leather, try using a suede rubber to remove spots before you go all in with a cleaning product.
  • Just like our skin, leather needs some moisturizing to stay supple. If you don't clean and moisturize, your leather will wrinkle and dry out overtime. But there's a tricky part to this story… Some types of leather need a different approach.

When you're not using your handbag, keep them in their dust bags. Also, to keep the shape of the bag, try to fill it with some paper during the off season.
